In his new supernatural, mystery novel “One Shoe and the Golden Medallion” (published by iUniverse), author Russel Frederick Ahrens tells the story of a series of frightening murders in which the only thing left behind at each crime scene is a lone shoe.
When a series of terrifying, identical murders rocks the globe, investigations begin to point to altruistic Henry Wainwright. In an effort to use his wealth and influence to improve the world, Wainwright deploys an army of divinely possessed warriors. His goal is to rid the world of ignorance and self-destruction, one dead body at a time. However, he eventually goes missing, and one of his more skeptical associates, Maury Levet, undergoes a supernatural transformation, setting off to use his great, new power to fulfill Wainwright’s mission.
An excerpt from “One Shoe and the Golden Medallion”:
Henry reminded everyone, “Our Virtue Warriors are what make this organization so special to the world, as their powers will help turn around disillusioned cultures.” He added emphatically, “If we can help distressed Third-World nations believe that life is precious, and that an educated child is their way to a better future, then we have done our duty.”
